Ribbon Ring Review + Giveaway!

It's time for me to admit that my studio/"shop" is something of a disorganized cave!  I have SO MUCH stuff in about 120 sq ft, that sometimes it's so hard to know what it is I have!

Ribbon is something I use quite a lot…I use it for my tutus, my hair clippies, my key fobs and whatever else I can think of!  So I tend to collect numerous yards of so many different colors, prints and sizes of ribbon!  If I am not hanging ribbon on my peg board, I have it sitting on my craft table, hanging in the closet and/or it's in a box!

Recently I was sent one of the coolest product to check out...the Ribbon Ring!  Ribbon Ring is a ribbon storage system comprised of a metal ring and plastic ribbon tags that replace traditional ribbon storage products.  Ribbon Ring is a ribbon organizer offering more storage in less space.  After you load it up, it's even chic enough to be displayed in your craft area!

Here are some FABulous facts about Ribbon Ring:

• You can easily find the ribbon you are looking for
• You can tell how much of a particular ribbon you have left without unwinding a spool
   or digging through a box
• Ribbon does not wrinkle or get tangled
• Ribbon Ring takes up very little space and can be hung on the wall or the back of a door
• Depending on ribbon width, more than one ribbon can hang on a Ribbon Ring tag

So, I received the Starter Pack.  The Starter Pack includes one 2" metal ring, 30 standard ribbon tags and 15 inventory dots.  This product will hold approximately 60 pieces of ribbon, depending on ribbon width.

And here is how it works…
1. Thread one end of ribbon from back to front through top slit.
2. Take opposite end and thread through the middle slit from back to front.
3. Pull ends equal. Thread both ends through third slit, from front to back.

Depending on the widths of your ribbon, you can fit 2 or 3on each tag.  Ribbons will hang side-by-side.  The standard tags are a little over an inch wide, so a 5/8" ribbon and a 3/8" ribbon fit comfortably side-by-side.  A JUMBO tag is 2" wide, so you can fit up to 2" of ribbon side-by-side.

You even get these little inventory dots!  If you have a super-long length of ribbon, it is recommended that you cut off a manageable piece, i.e. cut 1 yard.  Then, affix the inventory dot to the corner of the ribbon tag.  This acts as a reminder that you have more of that ribbon when you have used up that piece.

Here is a quick peak at my ribbon disaster!  Too afraid to show you the rest!

So…very…disorganized!  EEEEKK!

Here is what my Ribbon Ring is starting to look like:

I have to admit, it will take me a LONG time to get it all on the ribbon tags!  But in the end it will be so worth it! lol!  Will be sure to follow-up with new pics once I am all done!

And nowCupcakes!

You've seen them.
You've drooled over them.
Now you can make them
(along with a whole bunch of
other WAY cute stuff).

Melissa Bickle, owner of Ribbon Ring has a new book coming out soon!

"Ribbon Cupcakes and More"
is being published this Fall

by Leisure Arts.

A little background… In 2009, she toured the scrapbook convention circuit with Ribbon Ring.  She decorated her booth with platters of ribbon cupcakes.  She happened upon these cupcakes one night while she was playing around with her other passion, baking!  As she was making chocolate ribbon curls for some cupcakes she realized that she had some ribbon that was the perfect color of chocolate!  The rest is history…Ribbon cupcake love.  At the conventions, the ribbon cupcakes stole every show.  Then she created some ribbon truffles to go with them.  Soon after she was overwhelmed with requests for instructions on how to make these sweet treats.   So she partnered up with Leisure Arts publishing and soon after "Ribbon Cupcakes and More" was born.
In addition to her famous ribbon cupcakes, there are step-by-step instructions for making truffles, cakes, Halloween projects, baby shower and wedding décor items and a ton of other super stinking cute goodies that will make you smile.

She will be offering her book for sale on her website and a few lucky retailers too.   I need to pre-order one for myself!  It sounds FABulous and I don't want to risk it selling out!
